In this day & age most if not all of us have our life on social media whether that’s facebook or twitter or a blog or whatever. We all talk about our lives so freely nowadays & with pictures as proof of our adventures. Now the problem is “are you offending anyone” with what you write? So many people get so offended by the littlest things, which personally I think is wrong. Everyone is entitled to joke or say what they want about anything. You don’t know what they have gone through in their life. Some put up the good things in their life & hide away the negativity, but what good is that really doing?
There are many offensive topics out there yet people take it all so seriously when someone makes a inappropriate joke. Personally I laugh, I’ve been through a lot in my life but I like to see the humour in things because a lot of people are naive to certain situations because they haven’t gone through it themselves. If that is a crime then I don’t agree with you there due to the fact that we are all on our own journey & have handled different situations. Look at me I’ve had a tough life but I still laugh at the jokes people make because I have come to terms with what has happened to me & can now laugh about it. If you can’t laugh you are holding too tightly to your circumstances & haven’t come to terms with what has happened to you, which you really need to do in order to move on with your life.
Just because someone has an opinions or a joke doesn’t make them bad people. Don’t let someone have so much power over you that you feel offended by what they say. It’s only an opinion & there’s nothing you can do to change that. You can put your opinion across & they may agree with you but that doesn’t mean that they are going to change how they think. The jokes are most likely not coming from a bad place maybe they just find it funny or they haven’t been through it to know how sensitive that can make someone. But why be sensitive when you could see the humour in things. It’s much better to laugh in life then to take it too seriously. If we were all the same, life would be seriously boring. If you have read this far – remember its only my opinion *wink*.
TV shows, films, books & the news are constantly piping out jokes or horrible news about the world, do you stop watching because of it? No you watch because you are intrigued by where it is going. Lets face it we are not made of glass & we wont break. We are made of tough stuff so we can get passed our circumstances & move on to greater things. If you spend your life living in the past then how are you meant to move forward? You need to learn to accept others & yourself for who they/you are. The sooner you do that the sooner you’ll find your people & you’ll start to move on with your life & also become more positive & see the humour in things you never thought you would. Everyone has come from their own hardships maybe they are worse than yours or maybe the opposite but the point is when you accept them for the person they are with their hardships, you will have a friend for life. Remember to respect other people’s opinions. I’ve had people fall out with me over my opinions & I just think that is so wrong because it’s only an opinions, it’s just words… sticks & stones & all that. Why let it bother you to such an extent & let someone have that power over you? I’ve learnt that most people who are very sensitive to opinions, either agree but do not want to admit it or they haven’t come to terms with what is really going on. Don’t be that way… see the jokes in life, enjoy everyone moment good or bad because it all makes us who we are.
